Saint Martin 2022 Divi Little Bay and The Shack Restaurant Update

Divi Little Bay remains one of our favorite beaches. My husband and I visited it several times on our last trips in 2021 and 2022.

In the past we both enjoyed The Shack restaurant with it’s local type of food like jerk chicken and shrimp, pork ribs, rice and beans (you can read about it in my previous blog post about Divi). Unfortunately this year the restaurant had a different menu. It is now a latin flavor restaurant. We both love Mexican cuisine. However, The Shack’s Mexican and other latin dishes were not delicious. We preferred the local dishes from previous years.

Here is the new menu:

We tried several dishes from the menu.

The chile lime shrimp tacos were a bit underwhelming.

There is a lunch combo for $25 which we tried one day.

My husband got three baja fish tacos as part of his combo deal.

I ordered a chopped lettuce salad with shrimp added. Both were ok but nothing special.

One day we tried pollo con cream - breaded chicken with Mexican crema and bell peppers, served with beans and rice. It was a Sunday special. Here are daily specials from the Shack:

We looked at the lunch menu at Pureocean restaurant but didn’t have a chance to try their food. Maybe next time.

Divi Little Bay has specialty nights as well:

Even though we didn’t like the new menu at The Shack as much as the previous one we still enjoyed the restaurant’s setting. The tables are outside with plenty of space between them. It’s a lovely way to spend your lunchtime looking at the ocean.

And sometimes you get an interesting companion for your meal-Gizmo, the parrot.

Overall Little Bay is very nice and not very crowded. The ocean is not very rough. We enjoy spending time on the beach.

As an artist I was inspired by the beauty of the setting to paint this painting:

My Saint Martin paintings are on my website. Prints of the Divi Little Bay painting can be purchased here:
