Alex Kanevsky: Some Paintings in No Particular Style

I've been a huge fan of artist Alex Kanevsky for a while now. His figurative paintings amaze me with a beautiful mixture of realism and abstraction. His use of color, painterly brushstrokes, combination of hard and soft edges, and layering are truly masterful.

Other than a couple paintings here and there in some Chelsea galleries in NYC I've never had a chance to enjoy his work until just a week ago when I went to see "Some Paintings in No Particular Style" in Hollis Taggart Galleries. The exhibition is truly inspiring. Here are some of my favorites:
